Hire Desk Controller – Leeds

About the role

JMS Powered Access is seeking a friendly and organised Hire Desk Controller to join its Leeds team. You will be the first point of contact for customers requesting plant and powered‑access equipment, ensuring hires are booked, scheduled and handed over smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone and email enquiries and manage bookings professionally.
• Allocate and schedule hires with logistics, drivers and engineers to meet customer requirements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date hire records in the system and process related paperwork.
• Provide product and pricing information and forward technical queries to engineering or sales.
• Monitor fleet availability and support machine preparation and maintenance coordination.
• Follow up on deliveries, returns and any issues to support a positive customer experience.

Required profile

• Strong communicator with an excellent telephone manner.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a busy hire office.
• Experience in equipment hire, transport, logistics or customer service is welcomed but not essential.
• Comfortable using IT systems and databases; experience with hire management software is a plus.
