History Teacher – Secondary School (Bradford)

About the role

We are seeking an inspiring History Teacher to join a reputable secondary school in Bradford. The role involves delivering engaging History lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, preparing students for GCSE examinations, and contributing to the wider Humanities department.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality History lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Teach a broad range of historical topics, developing students' understanding and enquiry skills.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing effective feedback.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
• Prepare students for GCSE History examinations and support them to achieve their full potential.
• Participate in enrichment activities such as history clubs, educational visits, and themed events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in History or a related subject.
• Experience teaching History at secondary level in the UK.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
• Experience teaching GCSE History is highly desirable; A‑Level experience advantageous.
