History Teacher – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are partnering with a thriving secondary school in Lambeth to recruit a passionate History Teacher. The role starts full‑time in September 2026 and involves teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils in a supportive Humanities department.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging History lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations and monitor their progress.
• Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment activities and departmental initiatives.
• Maintain effective classroom and behaviour management.
• Use assessment data to inform planning and support student attainment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in History or a closely related subject.
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting; early‑career teachers are welcome.
• Strong subject knowledge across a range of historical periods.
• Commitment to raising attainment and supporting inclusive learning.

• Effective lesson planning and delivery.
• Use of assessment data to track progress.
• Classroom and behaviour management techniques.
