History Teacher – Secondary School (Wakefield)

About the role
Reed Education is partnering with a reputable secondary school in Wakefield to recruit a passionate History Teacher. The successful candidate will join the Humanities department from September 2026, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 and potentially supporting A‑Level History.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality History lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Teach a broad range of historical topics, developing students' enquiry and critical thinking skills.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for GCSE History examinations and support them to achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to department initiatives, including history clubs, educational visits, and themed events.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in History or a related subject.
- Experience teaching History at secondary level in the UK.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
Required skills
- Effective lesson planning and delivery.
- Ability to assess and report on student achievement.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
