HNW Business Development Manager

About the role

As the HNW Business Development Manager you will lead NFU Mutual’s specialist High Net Worth office in Cobham, overseeing an expert team and driving profitable growth across the local and city markets. You will be responsible for setting sales and marketing strategies, delivering an excellent customer experience for an existing high‑net‑worth book, and ensuring the office meets its growth, profitability and service targets. The role is office‑based with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales and marketing plans for the High Net Worth segment.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with existing HNW clients and introducer networks.
• Oversee operational performance, customer retention activities, reporting and compliance requirements.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing team, fostering talent and a vibrant work environment.
• Drive business growth, profitability and service objectives for the Cobham branch.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and new business development ideas.
• Ensure compliance with the Insurance Distribution Directive, including CPD and regular re‑screening.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in the High Net Worth or Private Client insurance market.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships and develop high‑performing teams.
• Strategic, customer‑focused mindset with accountability in decision‑making.
• Experience in business development and sales strategy within a targeted environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of High Net Worth insurance and general insurance products.
