Home Manager

About the role

As a Home Manager at HC‑One in Dunstable you will lead the day‑to‑day operations of a residential care home, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care for residents while supporting and developing the staff team. You will be responsible for driving occupancy, marketing the home locally and maintaining compliance with health, safety and care standards.

Key responsibilities

• Promote the home to increase occupancy and achieve commercial targets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the local community and referral sources.
• Oversee front‑of‑house, catering and housekeeping functions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety and fire safety regulations.
• Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and recruitment to deliver high‑standard care.
• Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call support and cover for absent managers at other sites.

Required profile

• Experience in sales, marketing and recruitment within a care or hospitality setting.
• Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and Health & Safety legislation.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with a caring disposition.
• Ability to motivate staff and manage performance.
• Willingness to be on‑call and provide cover across multiple homes.
