Homelessness Prevention Officer

About the role
The Homelessness Prevention Officer will work in Rochdale to help individuals and families avoid losing their homes. This temporary, full‑time position involves assessing housing needs and guiding clients towards sustainable solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of clients at risk of homelessness.
- Conduct thorough homelessness assessments and produce personalised housing plans.
- Collaborate with housing providers, health services, social care agencies and voluntary organisations.
- Provide clear, compassionate and solution‑focused advice to clients.
- Ensure compliance with relevant housing legislation and internal policies.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of UK housing legislation and homelessness policy.
- Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable people.
- Experience working with multi‑agency teams in a fast‑paced environment.
