Homelessness Resettlement Officer

About the role

This temporary, three‑month position supports vulnerable adults who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Maidstone. Working closely with partner agencies, you will help individuals move towards stable housing and improve their overall wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload, conducting needs assessments and creating personalised support plans.
• Provide practical and emotional assistance to clients with complex needs.
• Collaborate with housing, health, education and employment services to secure appropriate resources.
• Carry out risk assessments and develop safety plans to reduce rough sleeping.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to performance targets.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours duties, including evenings, weekends and on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Recent, relevant experience in a housing or homelessness‑focused role.
• Experience with support planning and risk management.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Collaborative, proactive and empathetic approach.

Required skills

• Valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
• Eligibility for an enhanced DBS check.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £20 (equivalent to roughly £38,500 salaried).
• Full‑time schedule – 37 hours per week.
