Homelessness Resettlement Officer – Temporary (3 months)

About the role

We are seeking a Homelessness Resettlement Officer to join a local authority in Maidstone on a three‑month temporary contract. The role involves providing practical and emotional support to vulnerable adults, helping them secure stable housing and access essential services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients, conducting needs assessments and developing support plans.
• Deliver practical assistance and emotional support to individuals with complex needs.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to coordinate multi‑agency interventions.
• Facilitate access to housing, healthcare, education and employment services.
• Carry out risk assessments and create “staying safe” plans.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service performance targets.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours duties, including evenings, weekends and on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Recent, relevant experience in a housing or homelessness‑focused role.
• Experience in support planning and risk management with service users.
• High level of organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborative, proactive and empathetic approach.
• Enhanced DBS clearance, a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
