Hospital Receptionist

About the role

As a Receptionist at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, delivering a warm welcome and supporting smooth patient journeys across busy outpatient clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, manage a busy reception area and handle enquiries in person, by phone and email.
• Register patients, check them in for appointments and accurately update electronic health records.
• Coordinate outpatient clinic schedules, reschedule appointments, escalate delays and resolve booking discrepancies.
• Arrange interpreters and patient transport when required, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Identify and resolve issues that could affect patient flow, suggesting practical improvements.
• Provide flexible support to other areas within the department as needed.
