Hospital Shift Receptionist

About the role
You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and staff at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, delivering a professional and welcoming reception service on a part‑time basis. The role supports the smooth operation of a busy emergency admissions and rehabilitation environment.
Key responsibilities
- Greet visitors, notify relevant staff of their arrival and ensure all guests sign in and out.
- Record patient arrivals and departures accurately.
- Answer, transfer and take messages for all incoming calls.
- Sort and distribute post and assist with general office duties.
- Maintain a clean, tidy reception area and uphold security protocols.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a receptionist or administrator, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Organised, helpful and able to multitask effectively.
- Polite, friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills.
- GCSE Maths and English with strong numeracy and literacy.
- Attention to detail, diligence and an understanding of confidentiality requirements.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Windows operating system.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Familiarity with telephone systems.
