Host – Orangery

About the role

Join the award‑winning team at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere as a Host in the iconic Orangery. You will be the first point of contact for guests, delivering polished, warm service and guiding them through our premium food and beverage offering.

Key responsibilities

• Provide an extraordinary service experience that reflects 5‑star standards.
• Assist guests with menu choices, offering enthusiastic and knowledgeable recommendations.
• Take reservations accurately, capturing all required details in a friendly manner.
• Drive revenue through upselling and creative promotional initiatives.
• Share knowledge of menu items, promotions, and general Gordon Ramsay restaurant concepts.
• Follow health and safety policies when handling food and beverage.
• Perform administrative duties such as printing menus and managing stationery requisitions.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of serving or hosting experience in a luxury hospitality environment.
• Passion for 5‑star hospitality and a strong understanding of its standards.
• Empathetic, able to build rapport and read each guest’s desired level of interaction.
• Quick‑thinking, resourceful, and capable of solving problems in the moment.
• Calm, courteous, and able to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced setting.
• Team‑oriented with a willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
