Hotel Duty Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Hotel Duty Manager to join the management team of a well‑established 50‑bed hotel in Reigate. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences and supporting all operational departments.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day hotel operations during assigned shifts, acting as senior manager on duty.
• Support Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Weddings & Events and Maintenance teams, ensuring service standards and property presentation.
• Coordinate weddings, conferences, private functions and other events, liaising with operational teams and acting as point of contact for guests.
• Assist with restaurant, bar and banquet operations, including stock control, cash handling and service efficiency.
• Deliver exceptional guest service, manage feedback, complaints and build positive relationships to encourage repeat business.
• Supervise, motivate and train staff across departments, plan shifts and contribute to performance management.
• Ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance throughout the property.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel operations, including front‑office, housekeeping and food & beverage.
• Hands‑on background in managing weddings, events and conference functions.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and make operational decisions.

• Competitive salary up to £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• Full‑time permanent contract with shift pattern of 5 days over 7.
