About the role

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join its facilities team. You will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas in line with NHS infection‑control standards.
• Manage linen collection, storage, and distribution according to hospital protocols.
• Stock and replenish cleaning supplies, ensuring appropriate use of chemicals.
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards promptly to the facilities team.
• Adhere to health and safety legislation, including safe handling of equipment and waste.
