Housekeeper/Porter

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Housekeeper/Porter to join the housekeeping team at The Dean Neurological Centre. You will help create a safe, clean environment for patients, staff and visitors in a specialist neurological hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Clean all areas of the service, including wards, bedrooms, offices and visitor spaces.
• Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all areas are spotless and meet high‑standard cleaning protocols.
• Maintain hospital security standards by following relevant policies and procedures.
• Greet visitors professionally, answer telephone calls courteously and support front‑of‑house duties.
• Build positive relationships with staff, patients and visitors.
• Undertake any additional tasks appropriate to the role and attend mandatory training.

Required profile

• Previous experience cleaning in a hospital or similar healthcare environment.
• Enjoy cleaning and take pride in a job well done.
• Ability to prioritise duties and work efficiently.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Capable of spotting and resolving problems quickly.
