Housekeeping Assistant – Part‑time (24 hrs/week)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home in Martock. This part‑time, contract position involves maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for up to 76 residents while also supporting laundry services.

Key responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene standards.
• Perform laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing, labeling and returning clothing.
• Follow infection‑control, health‑and‑safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Work closely with the wider care team to ensure a comfortable and dignified environment.
• Be available to work alternate weekends as required.

Required profile

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience in cleaning or laundry is welcomed but not essential.
