Housing Assessments Officer

About the role

Join Buckinghamshire Council’s newly restructured housing team as a Housing Assessments Officer. You will deliver statutory homelessness and housing advice, supporting households through relief stages and final duty assessments while helping them transition from temporary accommodation to sustainable homes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide statutory homelessness advice and support under the Housing Act.
• Update personalised Housing Plans and make decisions on council duties.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage complex caseloads.
• Assist households in temporary accommodation to secure sustainable housing.
• Collaborate with senior officers, external partners, police, and welfare agencies.
• Contribute to service efficiency, multi‑agency working and continuous improvement.
