Housing Manager – Retirement Living Scheme (Over‑55s)

About the role

We are seeking a Housing Manager to lead a busy over‑55s retirement living scheme in Skelmersdale. The role involves delivering a high‑quality, responsive housing service that supports independent living and community wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day housing operations and landlord duties for the retirement living scheme.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Provide practical housing advice and tenancy support to residents.
• Supervise a small on‑site team, ensuring professional and caring service delivery.
• Act as the primary point of contact on site, fostering a safe and welcoming environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housing management, tenancy support and maintenance coordination.
• Background working with older or vulnerable residents.
• Standard DBS clearance.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and health & safety requirements.
• Strong administrative, organisational and communication abilities.

• Hourly rate between £18 and £24 (PAYE or Umbrella).
• Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5 pm schedule with weekends covered by a monitoring service.
• Three‑month fixed‑term contract with potential extension.
