Housing Officer – Kingston upon Thames

About the role

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join its Housing Landlord Services team. This permanent position offers a proactive, agile environment focused on delivering high‑quality housing services that meet community needs. The role works on‑site four days a week with one day remote.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver integrated housing services to tenants and leaseholders, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Provide a customer‑focused housing management service across a designated area, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
• Maintain a visible presence on estates, addressing housing management matters and promoting neighbourhood safety.
• Champion resident and community engagement, developing estate improvement plans in partnership with residents.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in general‑needs housing management.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑oriented approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
• Relevant qualifications in housing, social work, or a related field are preferred.
• Experience delivering housing services within local government or a similar setting.
• Proven track record of managing relationships with tenants, residents, and stakeholders.
