Housing Support Worker – East London (Temporary)

About the role

This is a three‑month temporary position supporting Nacro’s residents across East London. You will develop person‑centred support plans, assist with benefits and rent, and ensure housing properties meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Meet residents to discuss support needs and create individual support plans.
• Complete Support and Safety Plans and liaise with Community Probation Practitioners and Court Staff.
• Assist residents with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and rent payments.
• Inspect allocated properties, report repairs and ensure cleanliness.
• Manage a portfolio of properties as part of a larger regional team.

Required profile

• Experience in social housing or a similar support role.
• Knowledge of support planning and welfare benefits (Universal Credit, Housing Benefit).
• Own vehicle with business insurance and a valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to undergo Enhanced DBS and HMPPS Barring checks.
• Flexibility to work 35 hours per week across varied shift patterns.
