Housing Support Worker

About the role

As a Housing Support Worker you will help young people aged 16‑21 in supported housing to develop independence, stability and wellbeing. The role focuses on practical life‑skill assistance, safeguarding and linking individuals to essential services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct needs and risk assessments and develop personalised support plans.
• Provide practical assistance with cooking, cleaning, shopping, budgeting and financial management.
• Support individuals in accessing housing benefits, community resources and future housing options.
• Liaise with external agencies, attend team meetings and maintain accurate records.
• Promote safeguarding, equality and Peabody’s values in daily practice.

Required profile

• Experience supporting vulnerable people in a community or supported‑living setting, paid or voluntary.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with service users and partners.
• Compassionate, empathetic attitude with a genuine desire to make a difference.
• Confidence to work independently, including lone working, and as part of a collaborative team.

Required skills

• Good IT literacy, including use of Microsoft Office and data‑entry systems.
