Housing & Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Housing & Support Worker to join a specialist supported accommodation service for women and children in Harrow. The role involves providing person‑centred housing advice, safeguarding, advocacy and emotional support to help residents rebuild safe, independent lives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of women and children, delivering practical and emotional support.
• Develop personalised support, risk‑assessment and safety plans and conduct regular key‑work sessions.
• Provide advice on housing, benefits, finances, wellbeing, parenting, legal matters and access to community services.
• Facilitate admissions, inductions and move‑on planning to prepare residents for independent living.
• Liaise with housing providers, health services, police, social care, solicitors and partner agencies on behalf of residents.
• Promote safeguarding, maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant policies.

Required profile

• Female applicants only, in line with genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010.
• Calm under pressure and able to work in a trauma‑informed environment.
• Committed to making a meaningful difference for vulnerable women and children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

What we offer

• Full‑time permanent contract (35 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8.30 am‑5 pm).
• Salary of £29,000 per annum.
