Housing Support Worker – Northwest London (Temporary)

About the role

This temporary position supports Nacro’s residents across Northwest London, helping them achieve stable housing and personal goals. You will create person‑centred support plans, liaise with probation and court staff, and assist with benefit applications.

Key responsibilities

• Meet residents to assess needs and develop support and safety plans.
• Collaborate with Community Probation Practitioners and Court Staff to coordinate support.
• Assist residents with housing benefit, universal credit, and rent payments.
• Inspect allocated properties, report repairs, and ensure cleanliness standards.
• Manage a portfolio of properties while working within a regional team.

Required profile

• Experience in social housing or a similar support role.
• Understanding of support planning and welfare benefits.
• Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle and business insurance.
• Ability to work flexible shift patterns, including evenings and weekends.
• Enhanced DBS and HMPPS Barring checks (or existing update‑service DBS).

Required skills

• Knowledge of housing benefit and universal credit processes.
• Strong attention to detail for property inspections.
• Effective communication with residents and external partners.
