Housing Support Worker - South London

About the role

We are looking for a Housing Support Worker to join Nacro’s South London team on a temporary basis, covering staff sickness. The role focuses on delivering person‑centred support to residents, helping them achieve housing stability and meet their personal objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review individual support and safety plans with residents.
• Conduct regular meetings to assess needs and coordinate assistance.
• Liaise with Community Probation Practitioners, court staff and other partners to ensure coordinated support.
• Assist residents with housing benefit, universal credit and rent applications.
• Inspect allocated properties, report repairs, and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to the wider team’s service delivery.

Required profile

• Previous experience in social housing or a related housing support role.
• Knowledge of support planning, welfare benefits and universal credit.
• Enhanced Adult DBS and HMPPS Barring checks (or existing update‑service DBS).
• Own a vehicle with business insurance for property visits.
• Availability to work a 35‑hour week across flexible shift patterns.
