Housing Support Worker – South London

About the role

We are recruiting a Housing Support Worker for Nacro in South London to provide person‑centred support to residents while covering sickness absence. The role involves creating support plans, liaising with probation practitioners and court staff, and assisting residents with housing benefits and rent payments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review individual support and safety plans for residents.
• Meet residents to discuss needs, set objectives and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with Community Probation Practitioners, court staff and other agencies.
• Assist residents with housing benefit applications, universal credit and rent payments.
• Inspect allocated properties, report repairs and ensure cleanliness standards.
• Manage a portfolio of properties as part of a regional team.

Required profile

• Experience in social housing or a related sector.
• Knowledge of support planning and welfare benefits (Universal Credit, Housing Benefit).
• Enhanced Adult DBS and HMPPS Barring checks (or existing DBS on update service).
• Access to a vehicle with business insurance.

Required skills

• Attention to detail for property inspections.
• Ability to produce clear written support plans.
