HQ Financial Accountant – Computer Gaming

About the role

The company is a fast‑growing international computer‑gaming business seeking a newly qualified accountant to join its London HQ team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate period‑end close, maintaining balance‑sheet integrity and preparing statutory‑ready financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end close reporting for the HQ Group, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Produce monthly financial reporting packs (P&L, balance sheet, schedules) that are audit‑ready.
• Determine and post journals, accruals, provisions and re‑classifications with appropriate documentation.
• Manage intercompany accounting, including recharges, reconciliations and query resolution.
• Partner with budget holders to validate period recognition, address risks and challenge assumptions.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting and ensure correct IFRS 16 treatment and balance‑sheet reporting.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, support statutory filings and liaise with external auditors.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (part‑qualified or newly qualified).
• Strong understanding of IFRS, UK tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance and business teams.
