HR Advisor – 12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking an HR Advisor to join a social housing and housing development organisation on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will deliver a professional, people‑focused service, partnering with managers and stakeholders across the business. You will work hybrid, splitting your week between office and home, and rotate between three offices each week.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employee relations cases, providing expert advice to managers and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
• Lead attendance management, including return‑to‑work and long‑term absence cases.
• Support performance management, capability and development plans.
• Assist recruitment, retention, apprenticeship programmes and talent development initiatives.
• Contribute to the delivery of the People Strategy, corporate projects and learning needs identification.
• Partner with trade unions and build collaborative relationships with leadership teams.
• Maintain accurate HR data, ensure efficient processes and uphold safeguarding, health & safety and equality standards.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in a People/HR Advisory role handling a broad range of employee‑relations matters.
• Strong background supporting managers through performance, absence and conduct processes.
• High IT literacy and confidence using modern HR systems and data.
• In‑depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Excellent workload management with strong attention to detail and data integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems.
