HR Advisor – HR Operations & Employee Relations

About the role

Join a fast‑growing utilities business as an HR Advisor, supporting day‑to‑day HR operations and strategic projects. You will work closely with the Talent team and line managers to ensure smooth onboarding, employee relations and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver the onboarding process for new hires.
• Assist the Talent team with recruitment administration, contract processing and TUPE transitions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential HR records in line with GDPR.
• Lead and manage employee‑relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance matters.
• Provide advice and coaching to managers on employee‑relations issues.
• Support performance, absence management and long‑term sickness referrals.
• Advise on restructuring, redundancy processes and conduct exit interviews.
• Deliver training on people‑management and employee‑relations topics.
• Collaborate on HR projects, reporting and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide general HR administrative support as required.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures and employment law.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, hands‑on HR environment.
• Proven track record managing employee‑relations cases and advising managers.
• Experience with TUPE, redundancy and restructuring processes.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Proficiency with HR systems and tools.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary £40,000‑£45,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Car allowance of £4,500 or the option of a company car.
