HR Advisor – Hybrid (Barrow-in-Furness)

About the role

We are seeking two HR Advisors to join a busy People Services team supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation in Barrow-in-Furness. The role is hybrid, requiring three to four days on‑site each week, and is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
• Manage HR queries and employee‑relations cases.
• Support the delivery and maintenance of HR policies, procedures and people processes.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
• Maintain HR data and assist with reporting using HR systems.
• Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and the wider HR team to deliver effective people solutions.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisor role.
• Good knowledge of HR policies, procedures and UK employment law.
• Experience in a manufacturing and/or unionised environment is desirable.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
