HR Advisor

About the role

We are looking for an HR Advisor to join a busy retail HR team in Oxford. The role supports a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment during a period of transformation and increased workload, helping to clear a backlog of operational HR activity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the central HR mailbox, triage queries and resolve, delegate or escalate as needed.
• Provide support on low‑level employee relations cases.
• Offer guidance to managers on a wide range of HR matters.
• Conduct more complex or sensitive conversations and challenge stakeholders appropriately.
• Identify cases that require escalation and ensure operational continuity across the HR function.

Required profile

• Confidence in handling challenging conversations with managers and delivering constructive push‑back.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong judgement with the ability to prioritise and escalate appropriately.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive and resilient approach, with generalist HR experience.
