HR Advisor (Part‑Time) – 32 hrs/week

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a family‑owned, multi‑site business in Essex/Suffolk. Working 32 hours per week across four days, you will support a workforce of around 300 employees, delivering professional HR advice and helping to shape a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice to managers and staff, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.
• Manage employee‑relations cases, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and flexible‑working requests.
• Coach managers on people‑management practices and support sickness‑absence handling, liaising with Occupational Health when needed.
• Maintain and develop HR policies and procedures, keeping legislation knowledge up to date.
• Support recruitment processes, prepare contracts, amendments, leaver documentation and other HR correspondence.
• Assist with the maintenance and improvement of the HR information system.
• Contribute to HR projects focused on employee engagement, wellbeing, talent attraction and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of UK employment law.
• Proven experience in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment handling a high volume of employee‑relations cases.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with HR or time‑and‑attendance systems (e.g., Employment Hero).
