HR Advisor – People Operations

About the role

Join L'Oréal's Physical Distribution HR team as an HR Advisor supporting our Bury, Nottingham and Trafford distribution centres. You will be the go‑to partner for managers and employees, delivering HR guidance and ensuring smooth payroll operations in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice on disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters, ensuring compliance with employment law and L'Oréal best practice.
• Coach and support line managers through formal HR processes, from investigations to employee onboarding.
• Own the payroll data cycle: extract, validate and reconcile payroll information, working closely with the Payroll team to guarantee accurate, on‑time payments.
• Act as a trusted liaison between the distribution centres and Payroll, flagging discrepancies and driving continuous improvement.
• Maintain organisational data, support onboarding activities and contribute to a culture where staff feel heard and valued.

Required profile

• Proven HR experience, preferably in an operational, logistics or FMCG setting.
• Strong background in Employee Relations and formal HR processes.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills, able to interact with staff at all levels.
• Resilient, organised and able to meet tight payroll deadlines.
