HR Advisor – Temporary (4-6 months) – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking a proactive HR Advisor to join a manufacturing business in Leeds on a 4‑6 month temporary basis. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will deliver day‑to‑day HR support across the employee lifecycle and act as a trusted advisor to managers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied employee‑relations caseload, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability, flexible working, reasonable adjustments and long‑term sickness.
• Provide practical HR advice to managers, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies.
• Prepare contracts of employment, contractual changes, payroll amendments and related correspondence.
• Coordinate onboarding activities, issue new‑starter documentation and deliver inductions.
• Take minutes at formal HR meetings and maintain accurate employee records.
• Liaise with Payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee changes.
• Support the Head of HR on projects such as redundancy consultations, TUPE transfers and tender activity.
• Assist in continuous improvement of HR processes to enhance employee experience.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience as an HR Advisor or generalist, preferably in a fast‑paced manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and employee‑relations practice.
• Proven ability to manage ER casework independently.
• Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, operational setting.
