HR Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an HR Assistant to join our HR Shared Services team in Bedford. This is an 8‑month initial contract role, working hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days remote), delivering a high‑quality, customer‑focused experience across the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide fast, effective support via a ticketing system for employees, managers and candidates.
• Manage onboarding tasks, issue contracts and assist the Talent team.
• Coordinate pre‑employment screening and administer leaver processes.
• Process employee lifecycle changes in the HR system and maintain accurate employee data.
• Act as the first point of contact for HR queries and coach managers on employee‑relations documentation.
• Manage employment references and produce HR reporting in line with GDPR requirements.

Required profile

• Experience working in an HR Shared Services environment.
• Exemplary customer‑service skills and ability to interact with all levels of leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and excellent communication abilities.
