HR Business Partner – 18 Month Fixed Term (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an HR Business Partner to join a dynamic People Team of seven on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract. Based in Christchurch with a hybrid working model, you will support HR and recruitment activities across the UK and collaborate with teams in South Africa and Asia, offering a broad international perspective.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement HR strategies, workforce planning and organisational design aligned with business objectives.
• Provide expert advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management cases, and conduct investigations.
• Support talent acquisition by working with the TA team on recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
• Coordinate training and development initiatives to build employee capability and support career progression.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, maintain HR policies and produce reports for informed decision‑making.
• Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment through onboarding, probation and ongoing development, fostering engagement and a strong culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or HR Generalist at a strategic level.
• Strong background in employee relations, including handling disciplinary, grievance and absence cases.
• Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• CIPD qualification (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
