HR Business Partner – 9-Month Fixed-Term (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join a large, complex organisation on a 9‑month fixed‑term basis. Working in a hybrid model, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping to shape people strategy and drive organisational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders and managers to deliver strategic and operational HR support.
• Lead complex employee‑relations cases, investigations and hearings.
• Support organisational change programmes, restructures and workforce initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including trade‑union representatives.
• Provide expert guidance on UK employment law, policy and people‑related risks.
• Contribute to HR projects, process improvements and organisational development activities.

Required profile

• Proven success operating in a business‑partnering role within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong employee‑relations expertise and experience managing complex casework.
• Experience supporting organisational change and transformation programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management and influencing skills.
• Sound knowledge of UK employment law.
• CIPD membership or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience in the higher education, training, not‑for‑profit or similar sectors.
