HR Business Partner – Children Services (Contract)

About the role

This contract position offers an experienced HR professional the chance to partner with senior leaders in Greater London, shaping workforce initiatives and people strategies that support high‑quality services for children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the strategic HR Business Partner for Children’s Services, providing expert advice across the full employee lifecycle.
• Lead complex employee‑relations casework and ensure consistent policy application.
• Support major organisational change programmes, including restructures, TUPE transfers, workforce redesign and consultation exercises.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and toolkits in line with legislation and best practice.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in an HR Business Partner role within the education or children’s services sector.
• Strong knowledge of local authority HR processes and employment legislation.
• CIPD qualification at Level 5 or above.
• Proven ability to manage change and complex employee‑relations matters.

Required skills

• HR policy development and implementation.
• Employee‑relations case management.
• Change management and organisational redesign.
• Understanding of TUPE and workforce consultation processes.
