HR Manager

About the role

We are supporting a multi‑site manufacturing group with an experienced HR Manager. This senior, hands‑on position focuses heavily on Employee Relations and works closely with the HR Director and Operations Director.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational managers to provide HR guidance on complex grievances, disciplinaries and investigations.
• Manage settlement agreements and sensitive employee exits.
• Advise on conduct, capability and absence matters, balancing legal risk with operational needs.
• Support managers through confrontational situations and improve consistency across line management.
• Contribute to wider HR projects, business initiatives and build strong relationships with senior leadership.

Required profile

• Strong, recent experience in Employee Relations, preferably within engineering or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to guide managers through complex ER matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations and settlement agreements.
• Confident partnership with senior operational leaders and the capacity to challenge constructively.
• Calm, controlled approach to high‑risk, sensitive situations.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or higher is preferred.
