HR Manager – Manufacturing Site Leadership

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join a leading global manufacturing business in South Molton, Devon. As a member of the site leadership team, you will shape people strategy, support operational leaders and develop a high‑performing workforce in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with site leadership to deliver strategic and operational HR support.
• Lead, coach and develop the on‑site HR team.
• Drive employee engagement, performance management and organisational development initiatives.
• Manage complex employee‑relations cases and provide expert advice to managers.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and talent‑acquisition activities.
• Support succession planning, workforce planning and capability development.
• Administer compensation, benefits and performance‑review processes.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment law, HR policies and best practice.
• Promote an inclusive, high‑performing workplace culture and support health and wellbeing programmes.

Required profile

• Previous HR Manager experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong generalist HR background supporting operational leaders.
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Proven experience in employee relations, coaching and stakeholder management.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing HR teams.
• Degree in Human Resources or equivalent; CIPD qualification desirable.
