HR Manager (Part‑time) – Altrincham

About the role

This part‑time HR Manager position supports a growing, family‑run organisation in Altrincham. Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide pragmatic HR advice across the employee lifecycle and help shape people practices as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for managers and employees, delivering practical HR advice.
• Lead employee‑relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence management.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies.
• Support recruitment activities: draft job descriptions, coordinate interviews, manage offers and assist placement programmes.
• Deliver structured onboarding experiences and maintain accurate employee records.
• Provide payroll‑related information for starters, leavers and contractual changes.
• Assist with annual people processes such as appraisals, salary reviews and succession planning.
• Contribute to HR policy development, system improvements, wellbeing initiatives and employee engagement programmes.

Required profile

• Hands‑on HR professional with generalist experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑growing environment.
