HR Officer – Multi Academy Trust (Cambridge)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HR Officer to join a successful Multi Academy Trust in East Anglia. You will be the primary HR contact for a secondary school, providing advice, support and guidance while working closely with a dedicated HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior school management to address HR challenges and provide strategic advice.
• Lead recruitment and resourcing for the school, ensuring all pre‑employment checks are completed.
• Manage onboarding and induction for new staff members.
• Act as first point of contact for employee relations issues, offering guidance on best practice.
• Support the HR Business Partner in developing and delivering training materials.
• Contribute to Trust‑wide HR projects and assist other schools when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an HR Officer or Advisor role, with solid knowledge of employment law.
• Ideally CIPD Level 3 qualified (training can be provided).
• Ability to work independently, make decisions and build strong relationships.
• High integrity and professional standards.

Required skills

• Understanding of UK employment legislation.
• Experience with recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Familiarity with HR best practices and employee relations.
