HR Officer – Temporary Public Sector Role

About the role

This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to join a well‑established public sector organisation as an HR Officer. You will support a fast‑paced HR team in London, delivering high‑quality service to employees and managers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR administration and employee support.
• Assist with recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions, advertising vacancies and coordinating interviews.
• Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems.
• Support payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Offer advice on HR policies and respond to employee queries.
• Contribute to learning and development initiatives.
• Prepare HR reports and analyse data for decision‑making.
• Collaborate with managers and other departments to ensure smooth HR service delivery.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a human resources role within the public sector or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Proactive problem‑solver with attention to detail.
