HRIS & Payroll Implementation Manager – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HRIS & Payroll Implementation Manager to lead the technical delivery of a new HR and payroll platform for a public‑sector client. The role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, reporting to senior stakeholders and forming part of a wider organisational transformation programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute the end‑to‑end implementation of HR and payroll systems from inception to go‑live.
• Define project scope, timelines, technical requirements and success criteria.
• Manage system testing, including end‑to‑end, parallel payroll runs and data validation.
• Oversee data migration and integration with existing business applications.
• Identify, monitor and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies.
• Track progress, budgets and milestones, providing regular updates to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal and external teams, suppliers and service‑level agreements.
• Develop implementation road‑maps, resolve delivery bottlenecks and support change‑management activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering HRIS and payroll system implementations.
• Strong project‑management background in complex technical change programmes.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets and benefits realisation.
• Background in digital transformation and organisational change, preferably within regulated or public‑sector environments.

• Salary: £64,000 per annum.
