Human Factors Consultant

About the role

The Human Factors Consultant will lead engineering and technical activities for a nuclear facility, applying specialist knowledge to support safety case delivery. The role combines strategic planning, technical guidance and hands‑on assessment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership for engineering and technical tasks using process and domain expertise.
• Develop requirements, strategy and delivery plans for nuclear facility capabilities.
• Lead the Human Factors contribution to safety case development and delivery.
• Prepare, review and approve Human Factors integration plans and deliverables.
• Conduct Human Factors assessments that feed into safety assessments and risk models.

Required profile

• UK citizenship to meet security criteria.
• Strong communicator with experience writing safety reports.
• Ability to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and good practice.
• Experience applying ALARP and risk‑reduction principles.
• Proven track record in supporting safety case production.
