Human Resources Advisor – Job Evaluation or Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

About the role

We are seeking two experienced Human Resources Advisors to join our Workforce & Change team within a large local authority. One role will focus on Job Evaluation, the other on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI). Both positions will provide specialist HR advice while delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert HR guidance across employee relations, disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance, restructures and TUPE matters.
• Lead complex investigations and casework, ensuring fair, evidence‑based outcomes.
• Design, deliver and govern job evaluation frameworks to ensure fairness and compliance (Job Evaluation role).
• Develop and embed EDI strategy, initiatives and inclusive practices across the workforce (EDI role).
• Analyse HR data and trends to support strategic improvements.
• Build strong relationships with trade unions, senior leaders and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in employee relations and complex case management.
• Ability to influence, challenge and support stakeholders at all levels.
• Specialist knowledge in Job Evaluation or a proven track record in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.
• Proactive, analytical mindset with a commitment to high‑quality outcomes.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
