Human Resources Officer

About the role

Our client, a specialist engineering services company with nearly 50 years of experience, is looking for a Human Resources Officer to join their team in Hook, Hampshire. Reporting to senior management, you will deliver a full HR service across the UK, supporting employees and managers while ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for all HR‑related queries.
• Manage employee relations and provide guidance on personnel issues.
• Coordinate recruitment campaigns, onboarding and induction processes.
• Support performance management, appraisals and employee development.
• Advise management on employment law, salaries, redundancy and HR best practice.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
• Ensure HR policies and procedures remain compliant with current legislation.
• Assist with quality management systems across the wider group when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HR Officer, HR Advisor or similar generalist role.
• Good working knowledge of UK Employment Law.
• Experience in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training and HR administration.
• Knowledge of quality management systems or quality assurance processes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Strong judgement and confidence to make decisions in challenging situations.
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written English and strong administrative abilities.

• Salary £40,000‑£45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
