Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant – Fully Funded Training

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Hounslow for a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant. This full‑time position offers a genuine career development pathway for recent graduates who wish to become qualified teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Support Humanities lessons, assisting teachers with delivery and classroom management.
• Provide targeted interventions and small‑group teaching for students with varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs.
• Work one‑to‑one with pupils who need additional support to access the curriculum.
• Assist with marking, preparation of resources, and organisation of classroom materials.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and uphold the school’s high standards of behaviour and academic achievement.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a strong interest in Humanities and education.
• Commitment to developing a teaching career through a funded training route.
• Ability to work collaboratively with experienced teachers and support staff.
• Enthusiasm for supporting diverse learners and promoting inclusive practice.

Required skills

• Effective communication with students and staff.
• Basic organisational skills for resource preparation and classroom management.
