Humanities Teacher – Secondary School (11-16)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Humanities Teacher to join a good‑rated secondary school in Harlow. The role involves teaching History, Geography and, where appropriate, Religious Studies to students aged 11‑16 across KS3 and KS4.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and differentiate engaging Humanities lessons.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong attainment.
- Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment that encourages debate and enquiry.
- Connect historical events, geographical issues and cultural perspectives to develop critical thinking.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A degree in History, Geography, Humanities or a closely related subject.
- Experience teaching Humanities subjects across KS3 and KS4 in a secondary setting.
- Ability to teach History and/or Geography confidently; additional Humanities experience is advantageous.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
Required skills
