Hybrid Construction Finance Manager – Glasgow

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance function of a fast‑growing construction SME in Glasgow. The role is hybrid, offering flexibility while allowing you to shape processes and drive financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly management accounts to directors.
• Analyse cash‑flow, produce reports and manage purchase/sales invoicing.
• Review debtor balances and chase outstanding debts.
• Execute month‑end journals – accruals, pre‑payments, payroll, fixed‑asset depreciation and inter‑company reallocations.
• Conduct cost‑variance and budget variance analysis, and report P&L performance.
• Control credit‑card and petty‑cash usage.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, VAT and CIS returns, and process subcontractor payments.
• Support job costing, project tracking and implement process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar finance role within construction.
• Hands‑on experience with QBE, PQ or Qual forecasting and budgeting.
• Essential knowledge of CIS and construction‑industry accounting.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational abilities to build stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• QBE (or PQ/Qual) forecasting and budgeting tools.
• CIS processing.
• Xero or equivalent accounting software.
• Advanced Excel.
