Hybrid Health, Safety & Compliance Advisor

About the role

Our client, a national manufacturing company, is seeking a proactive Hybrid Health, Safety & Compliance Advisor to support day‑to‑day H&S management and broader compliance activities. Working closely with the Associate Director of HR, Compliance & Safety and the Compliance Specialist, you will help maintain a safe, compliant and well‑organised workplace across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System.
• Carry out workplace inspections, internal audits and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Provide practical H&S advice to managers and support contractor management, including Permit‑to‑Work processes.
• Maintain fire safety arrangements, act as Fire Marshal and First Aider coordinator, and conduct routine checks.
• Support ISO 9001 and BRCGS Storage & Distribution compliance, assist with internal audits and certification activities.
• Monitor legislative changes, update documentation, and respond to customer compliance enquiries.
• Deliver H&S inductions and training, promote a positive safety culture, and produce monthly compliance reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health, safety and compliance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, BRCGS and relevant UK health and safety legislation.
• Ability to conduct audits, investigations and risk assessments independently.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence managers and staff.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
